New Zealand Avocado web site is the grower organisation that promotes the sale and consumption of avocados, manages a research and development programme, and develops and implement quality standards, export grade standards and rules and procedures that must be followed by growers, pack houses and exporters.

The Bay of Islands Farmers' Market, which became established in 2004, is one of the biggest in the country - not bad with a population base of about 10,000. A reason for the size is the great variety of local produce that grows in our temperate climate and the enthusiastic and creative artisan producers who make the most of this bounty.
